Classes

Basic Bike Mechanic 101

Basic Bike Mechanic 101 Classes are offered every Thursday night at 6:00 pm. Everyone is welcome and the classes are free. Each week we focus on a different component of the bike, so the classes can be taken as stand-alone classes, or in series. There is no sign-up necessary and students get to work on bikes and use the tools in the shop.

Bike Mechanic Apprenticeship Program

The Bike Mechanic Apprenticeship Program (Bike MAP) is an intensive 8-week course designed to teach students the basic skills they would need to obtain employment in a bike shop. Through the class, students will overhaul a complete bike, and practice the skills they learn in the shop. The course is offered four times throughout the year and requires students to commit to 5-10 hours/week of class and work time in the shop. At the end of the course, those who complete the homework and pass the midterm and final tests are given a Certificate of Completion. To participate, perspective students need to complete an application and submit it to the Director and Shop Manager. They will then be interviewed. Space is limited, so individuals who are interested in employment in the bike industry are given preference. Keep an eye on our website, Facebook page, and Instagram for information on upcoming Bike MAP opportunities.
