Kestrel 200 EMS 56cm Frame + Headset

Here is a piece of carbon fiber bicycle history, literally one-piece, as in true monocoque construction. Vintage Kestrel bikes were way ahead of their time, and were hand-made in Watsonville, CA. The EMS model offered the same design and shared the same mold as the 200 SCi, but used a lighter and higher modulus carbon fiber. This frame is beautiful despite some signs of wear. The paint is chipped off on the drive side chain stay, but the carbon appears intact and not gouged. Similar marks can be seen in the rear seat stay cluster. Tire clearance was tight back there, and if you ever rode through fresh chip seal, you can imagine how this happened. There is a Cane Creek threadless headset, but you will have to find your own EMS fork to get this restoration project kicked off. We think it is a 56 cm frame, based on the 56 cm center-to-center top tube measurement. Old Kestrel geometry charts on the internet claimed a c-t-c top tube length of 55.9cm for the 56 cm model. Free local pick-up in SLC, or we can ship in the U.S. for $75.
