Bike Prom is Bicycle Collective’s annual fundraising event to help support paying down the debt we incurred in the building of our New Hub and Community Bike Shop. Since we like to throw a good party, Bike Prom is our effort to do two things at once. The bike ride starts at 6:30 PM at Liberty Park (corner of 500 East and 900 South) and will end at Woodbine Food Hall ( 545 West 700 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84101). Held every Tuesday* from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in our SLC location, Youth Open Shop is a learning environment for youth ages 12-18 where they can work on their own bikes or help us in our mission and work to donate bicycles to adults & kids in need within our community. Participants will gain mechanical skills, contribute service, & can earn a bike of their own! Registration is required. Bicycle mechanics is overwhelmingly a trade done by cis-men (people assigned male at birth who are men). The goal of this event is to hold space for folks who do not fall into that demographic. This program offers a friendly and inclusive learning environment for women and/or gender expansive people to fix their own bikes, buy bikes and parts, and learn about bicycles. Every Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, except when the shop is closed for holidays.
It's official, Bike Prom 2025 will be on Saturday, August 23rd. We will once again gather at Liberty Park, then embark on a slow roll ride that will end at Woodbine SLC Food Hall. Click here to get tickets!
